About Wicca

Wicca is big boned and impressive, built solidly and uphill with a nice short back for dressage. She has a huge, powerful trot with lots of natural engagement and suspension. I absolutely love watching her move! Before her injury, we free jumped her twice and she showed great aptitude for that as well, easily jumping 3'6" on the first day. She came to us through our good friend, Randy Hickman, and was bred in KY by Kaleidoscope Farm. Randy, we can't thank you enough for our wonderful girl!!

Injury Update

In 2005, after only being under saddle for several months (and just recently bred to Yeager), we were crushed when Wicca suffered an unfortunate pasture accident that fractured her right hock in several places. The fractures were quite unusual in nature, so it is unknown how she did it or what her future limitations will be.

The good news is that she has recovered much better than expected, her hock looks great and she appears very sound. The vets are confident that she will be fine to continue work under saddle on the flat and with smaller jumps, but we must re-x-ray her before we know if it would be wise to jump her over more sizeable fences on a regular basis.

Foals
AERODYNAMIC - 2006 Buckskin Colt
Wicca's first foal, 'Aero' (buckskin colt by Yeager GF), was originally bred to be my own eventing and jumper prospect. He turned out to be all that we had hoped for and more, inheriting both of his parents' springy, uphill movement and sweet, playful attitudes.

YEAGER'S ODIN - 2007 Chestnut Colt

Wicca's second foal, Odin (chestnut colt by Yeager GF), also shows the athleticism and impressive movement of his parents. He is big and solid like his mom.

YUKON GOLD - 2008 Buckskin Colt
Yukon (buckskin colt by Yeager GF) is Wicca's third foal. This huge, fancy guy is sure to be a talented athlete that will excel in any sporthorse discipline. He is an amazing mover and looks a lot like his sire.

PACIFIC BRANNZ - 2010 Chestnut Colt
Our most recent Wicca/Yeager foal, Brann. After falling in love with the talents of Wicca's other 'kids', we were excited to repeat this cross. So far, Brann looks very similar in type to his dam and his full sibling, Odin. He is super sweet and has some very unique markings.

Bloodlines

Wicca's sire, 'Weltstern', is an extremely well bred Oldenburg stallion who was licensed and approved in Germany prior to his import and Oldenburg/ISR approved in the U.S.. Weltstern has offspring competing at FEI levels in both Jumping and Dressage, and his pedigree includes such prolific stallions as Ferdinand, Don Carlos, Furioso II and Absatz. His sire, 'WeltAs', was named the top producing dressage sire in both 1995 and 1996. WeltAs sired numerous quality offspring, the most well-known being 'Bonfire', the horse that Anky van Grunsven received the Individual Gold medal on in the 2000 Sydney Olympics (in Dressage). 'Welt As' also produced top jumping offspring, including 'Leroy Brown', a member of the 1992 German Olympic Gold Medal show jumping team.
